Costa Rica

Costa Rica is unique in so many ways and this variety is what makes this fun tropical paradise  such an exciting  place to live.  Few places on earth can match it for the natural beauty and diversity. Despite its diminutive size, packed within its borders are dozens of majestic volcanoes, vast expanses of jungle, several mountain ranges, countless rivers, lakes and waterfalls, 2 peninsulas, large protected bays and 755 miles of coastline stretched along two oceans.

Celebrated for its natural treasures,  850 magnificent bird species have been recorded and an endless varieties of plants and flowers can be found in the vast tropical rain and cloud forests of Costa Rica.  With all its spectacular beaches, rainforests, National Parks, rivers and lakes, it becomes a very attractive place to enjoy as a permanent or semi-permanent resident living in the warmth of the tropics.

Enjoying the reputation for enlightened environmental protection and nature's conservation, several successive governments have strongly continued the efforts for preserving  the country's proud image of one of the few remaining ecological havens, left on our crowded earth.

Costa Rica's reputation for environmental awareness started spreading in the 1980's.  In 1987, President Oscar Arias received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to expand peace throughout the rest of Central America.  With the major developments of many tourist installations in the 1990's and the universal awareness of the importance of protecting our rainforests, democratic Costa Rica has become a major destination for those seeking peace, security and living close to Mother Earth.

There is much to offer those seeking a new and safer place to live.  Costa Rica is not so strict, prices are not so high,  and people are not as  angry  and  disrespectful  like  too  many

other stressed out cultures.  This is part of the appeal for most of the people who have come to Costa Rica to establish their new life.  We all seem to fall in love with either the land, the people, or the relaxed living conditions found in this small tropical paradise.  Add to that, the modern comforts of a civilized society, plenty of cultural diversity, and a well-educated population that is  friendly, and who value democracy and peace as the only way of life.
